“Trump World Lobbyists Broker Resource-for-Access Deals with Struggling States”

A network of elite lobbyists with strong connections to Donald Trump is reshaping global diplomacy—one mineral deal at a time. As humanitarian aid dwindles, countries are now forced to use their natural wealth as currency for political favor in Washington.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, and Yemen have all turned to U.S. lobbying firms with Trump-era connections. In exchange for multi-million-dollar contracts, these lobbyists facilitate U.S. government support, often bypassing official diplomatic processes.
The deals are far from symbolic. The DRC is preparing to offer U.S. firms access to its highly sought-after reserves of cobalt and lithium, vital for electronics and defense. Pakistan and other countries are also engaging in similar arrangements.
These transactions reveal a new form of global inequality—where access to power isn’t earned through cooperation or diplomacy, but purchased via lobbying firms acting on behalf of political insiders.
